At Brandon House, we provide a coordinated approach to the delivery of substance abuse treatment. We do this by offering comprehensive assessments regarding the young persons substance use. Retention in treatment is associated with better outcomes; therefore, our principal goal is to keep young people engaged in treatment with person-centred interventions and life skills. We use a case management model to link clients with other appropriate services to address physical and mental health needs.
Therapeutic techniques are designed to support and assist young people experiencing disconnection to restore themselves to mental, physical and emotional health by developing personal self-management skills.
We deliver an integrated range of evidenced based psychotherapeutic approaches for clients concurrently diagnosed with anxiety, ADHD and PTSD.
We aim to provide young people with skills to make healthy decisions, manage emotional states and stress, develop communication skills and build healthy relationships. We put emphasis on empowering adolescents to understand the consequences of substance use and risk-taking behaviour.
We encourage parents, family members or friends to also attend counselling and/or a support group – for some family members, this has resulted in lifelong friendships with others and offers support and encouragement to other members.
Referrals accepted from professionals, family members and young people.
