Cork and Kerry Mental Health and Wellbeing Festivals and Green Ribbon month

Looking after our mental health and wellbeing should always be a priority, and the ongoing uncertainty caused by Covid-19 makes it more important than ever.

That’s why Cork Kerry Community Healthcare is proud to facilitate Mental Health and Wellbeing Festivals in Cork and Kerry this month. The festivals encourage all of us to focus on our mental health and wellbeing, and to take some time to learn, talk, reflect, and engage with others around the topic of mental health and wellbeing.

You can see the full schedule of events for Cork here and for Kerry here

The festivals run from October 10th to 17th, but there are events running online in both counties throughout October. The events all have an online basis, which means that no matter what restrictions are in place we can all take part.

As part of the festivals, the Resource Officers for Suicide Prevention have created this video.

Finally, October is also Green Ribbon month, at time when we encourage all staff to wear the Green Ribbon as part of our efforts to reduce stigma around mental health. You can get a ribbon here or by contacting Resource Officer for Suicide Prevention Martin Ryan on martin.ryan8@hse.ie.

Talking about our mental health can be very helpful and that’s why it’s important to find ways to have these conversations, even during these challenging times.
